Times News NetworkDaltonganj: A fire early Friday morning gutted goods belonging to two vendors in the vegetable market here, destroying their goods. Crates of gourd, lemons and other produce were reduced to ashes in the blaze. No casualties were reported, district fire officer Albert Tigga said. One of the affected vendors, Nasim Raiyin, alleged that the fire was “not accidental” but a deliberate act. “The fire was purely man-made to settle an old score,” Raiyin claimed, adding that the dispute centres around the occupancy of two shops—his and that of another vendor, Avinash.Fire officer Tigga said a fire tender with a 4,500-litre capacity was rushed to the spot and managed to contain and control the blaze within half an hour. The fire did not spread to adjacent shops or buildings. Daltonganj town police station officer Jyoti Lal Rajwar said no complaint had been received so far in connection with the fire.
