Mumbai: A fire broke out on the first floor of the ground-plus-one-storey Byculla police station building on Hansraj Marg in Byculla East on Sunday evening.The incident was reported at 8.24pm. Fire brigade personnel, along with officials from BEST, Mumbai Police and the civic ward office, rushed to the spot to contain the blaze.According to officials, the fire was confined to the first floor of the police station. No injuries were reported.The cause of the fire was not immediately known.Confirming the incident, deputy police commissioner Jayant Meena said, “Yes, there has been a fire incident in Byculla police station building. It has been doused by the fire brigade. Prima facie it was caused by a short circuit. Further necessary action is being taken.“
