Lucknow: Babu Banarasi Das (BBD) police registered a case against three individuals for allegedly assaulting a local resident and molesting his sister-in-law under the guise of playing Holi.The incident occurred on Wednesday around 8:30 pm in Nurpur Behta village. According to an FIR lodged on Sunday, complainant Harishchandra (33) alleged that accused Ranjit, Shivam and Shubhash forcibly attempted to apply colour to his sister-in-law Suman.

When Harishchandra intervened to protect his sister-in-law, the trio reportedly unleashed a volley of verbal abuse and death threats. The situation escalated when the attackers allegedly struck Harishchandra on the head and face with a heavy iron bangle (kada), resulting in serious injuries. The victim stated that he was saved only after his brother, Chandrika Prasad and Suman intervened to stop the assault.Following the written complaint submitted on March 6, the police booked the accused under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including voluntarily causing hurt, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace, and criminal intimidation.Inspector Ram Singh said that a manhunt was launched for the accused.
