Kanpur: Police on Wednesday arrested an iron trader and his son for allegedly assaulting a loader driver in Fazalganj after accusing him of stealing six kilograms of iron rods.According to police, the victim, Deepu Savita, had been working for the accused for the past 15 years. On Tuesday, trader Rammilan and his son, Nitesh, accused Deepu of stealing iron rods.They allegedly tied him up with a rope and brutally assaulted him near Chain Factory Chauraha.A passerby recorded the incident on a mobile phone, and the video later went viral on social media.Acting on the information, Fazalganj police reached the spot, rescued the victim and took him to the police station, where he underwent a medical examination.Fazalganj SHO Dhananjay Kumar Pandey said the father-son duo was arrested and a case was registered against them. He added that they would soon be produced before a court and sent to jail.
