Hisar: A 45-year-old farmer was allegedly killed in a dispute over canal water in Badya Brahmanan village of Hisar district, police said on Thursday. Three accused have been arrested.The deceased, Vinod, was attacked late on April 14 while irrigating his fields with his daughter, following an altercation with neighbouring farmers over water allocation, police said.Based on a complaint by his father Mahendra, a case was registered on April 15 at Azad Nagar police station.Police said Vinod was assaulted with sharp weapons and sustained fatal injuries, while the accused fled the spot. The arrested accused have been identified as Sanjay, Abhishek of Dubheta village and Rahul of Badya Brahmanan.Preliminary probe suggests the clash was triggered by a “water turn” dispute. Further investigation is underway.
