Rajkot: The family of an elderly man in Amreli district alleged that he was attacked by a lion and sustained a head injury while sleeping outside his house. However, the forest department denied that the injuries were caused by a lion.The incident was reported from Rabarika village near Tulsishyam, where Ravji Senjaliya was sleeping in the open outside his residence.His son, Bhavesh, claimed that a lion appeared around 3.30am and attacked his father. Speaking to the media, he alleged that despite villagers confirming the presence of a lion, forest officials were denying the attack. He demanded that the animal be captured and relocated to prevent any future danger.Following the family’s claim, forest officials visited the village and conducted an inspection but found no evidence to support the allegation.Deputy conservator of forest (Gir East) Vikas Yadav said, “The man was sleeping outside his house. The lion bit the blanket and walked away. We found no evidence suggesting the lion injured him.”
