Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday has directed the officials to repair and bring into use the three barrages — Medigadda, Sundilla and Annaram of Kaleshwaram project. He said that the work should be completed as per the recommendations of the National Dam Safety Authority. The chief minister stressed the need to expedite these works as quickly as possible. Reviewing Kaleshwaram barrages works along with irrigation minister Uttam Kumar, the CM directed officials to come up with a special action plan for repairs and continuous monitoring. He insisted that tests and sample collections being conducted under the supervision of the Central Water and Power Research Station (CWPRS) should be completed before the onset of the rainy season. The CM suggested setting up a base camp at Medigadda, and said that he would personally visit and inspect once the work begins.
