Hyderabad: The legislative assembly ethics committee will announce its decision on BRS MLA from Huzurabad, Padi Kaushik Reddy, in the next assembly session. Committee chairman Revuri Prakash Reddy urged speaker G Prasad Kumar on Wednesday to allow the committee to submit its report in the next session, which was approved by the House.The ethics committee took up allegations against Kaushik Reddy that he behaved inappropriately with MLA Kadiyam Srihari on the floor of the assembly in March this year during a debate on mining irregularities. The committee is headed by Congress MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy, while BRS MLAs Vemula Prashant Reddy, T Padma Rao, BJP MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy and CPI MLA Sambasiva Rao are its members. During the debate on mining issues, while Srihari spoke against the BRS govt, Padi Kaushik Reddy allegedly interrupted him and asked, “Which party are you in?” Srihari alleged that Kaushik Reddy behaved inappropriately and made threatening gestures, including pretending to shoot a gun at him. Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar referred Kaushik Reddy’s conduct to the ethics committee for further action.Committee member and BRS MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy alleged that the Congress govt was resorting to political vendetta through ethics and inquiry committees to silence BRS legislators who question the govt on public issues. Meanwhile, the legislative council ethics committee will also take up the cases against two MLCs, Tata Madhusudhan and Ramesh Reddy, in the next council session. The committee, chaired by B Mahesh Kumar Goud, will hear the arguments on the issue. As per the norms, both the assembly and the council have to deliver their decisions on the issues concerning their members during their respective sessions.
