New Delhi: Environmental research organisation Envirocatalysts has launched a new online air quality dashboard aimed at making pollution data across India easier to access and understand. Drawing on records from the Central Pollution Control Board and regional agencies, the platform offers filters for regions such as Delhi-NCR, the Indo-Gangetic plains and areas under the national clean air programme. The dashboard converts complex datasets into clear, actionable visuals, highlighting how pollution sources vary by season and geography. It stresses the need for sustained source reduction rather than relying on weather changes to disperse pollutants.“While the seasonal spike in paddy stubble burning often grabs the headlines, Delhi’s air crisis is a year-round battle fuelled by a toxic cocktail of local and regional sources. We are seeing PM10 levels skyrocket as dust from outside NCR merges with road dust and construction. Increasing cases of stubble burning and unrelenting emissions from power plants and industries add to it. To breathe easy, we must start tackling the heavy, everyday polluters that never take a break,” said Sunil Dahiya, founder and lead analyst at think tank Envirocatalysts.
