Nagpur:Engineering admissions in Maharashtra saw a significant rise this year, with 2,45,526 students confirming their applications for BE/BTech courses and becoming eligible to participate in the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for the 2026-27 academic year.According to the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, 2,66,024 candidates registered for engineering admissions before the extended deadline. Of these, 2,45,526 completed document verification and confirmed their applications by July 20. Only these candidates will be considered for the admission rounds.The number of registered applicants rose by 20,083 from the previous academic year, when 2,25,443 students registered for engineering admissions, indicating sustained demand for technical education in the state, according to data released by the CET Cell.As per the admission schedule, the provisional merit list will be published on July 22. Candidates can submit objections through their login portals from July 23 to July 25 till 5pm. The final merit list will be released on July 27, along with the provisional seat matrix for the first CAP round.The first CAP round will begin on July 28. Candidates will have to submit and confirm their option forms online between July 28 and July 30. Provisional seat allotment for the first round will be announced on Aug 2, after which candidates must accept their allotted seats and complete admission formalities between Aug 3 and Aug 5.The CET Cell has scheduled four CAP rounds, followed by institute-level admissions. The admission process is scheduled to conclude on Sept 15, 2026.Students have been advised to regularly check the CET Cell’s official website for detailed schedules and updates on subsequent admission rounds.
