Bhubaneswar: Law minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Sunday said the Ekamra Kshetra Amenities and Monuments Revival Action (Ekamra) project will be completed by March 2027.Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of Mahashivratri celebrations at Lingaraj Temple, the minister said a new agency has been roped in to execute works after the previous one expressed unwillingness to continue with the project.
He said Bindu Sagar will be redeveloped as a heritage lake as part of the project, and it will also include two additional components — an interpretation centre and a grand statue of Lord Shiva. “A revised project plan is currently under preparation, along with an enhanced budgetary allocation to ensure timely completion,” the minister added. In 2025, Harichandan said that some components of the Ekamra project would be completed before Mahashivratri this year.
