According to a senior BSTDC official, “Being built at an estimated cost of Rs99.26 crore, the multi-level parking will also have space for 10 buses. There will be 16 dormitories, two cloakrooms, two lifts for cars and four for passengers. Currently, the sand filling work is being done at the proposed site. It will take around a fortnight to fill the land as the area is quite big. After completion of the land-filling work, the construction work will begin with the piling process.”The proposed building has been designed to resemble Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji.Every year, lakhs of devotees and tourists from India and abroad visit Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, Patan Devi temple, Bal Leela Gurdwara, and gurdwaras located at Kangan Ghat. However, the biggest problem faced by devotees coming here is parking of vehicles. Due to narrow lanes and limited spaces, they often wander here and there to park their vehicles. After completion of this project, devotees coming to Patna Sahib from across the country and abroad to visit Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sabhi and Patan Devi temple will not face parking issues. After parking their vehicles near Kangan Ghat, they will be able to visit Kangan Ghat Gurdwara, Patna Sahib Gurdwara, Bal Leela Gurdwara, along with Badi and Chhoti Patan Devi temples, as per their convenience. The BSTDC official added, “The building’s design will reflect the cultural and architectural heritage of Patna Sahib. The emphasis on combining functionality and aesthetics aims to respect the spiritual significance of the surrounding religious sites while providing necessary infrastructure to smoothly handle vehicle movement. With this step, the govt hopes to fulfil the long-standing demand for organised parking in the area.”
