Ranchi: After a month-long Ramzan season of fasting and prayers, Muslims in Ranchi celebrated Eid on Saturday. Special prayers were offered at mosques and Idgahs across the city, and people met and greeted each other on the occasion.Edar-e-sharia Moulana Qutubuddin Rizvi said, “People offered prayers at over 60 mosques and Idgahs in Ranchi city from 6:30 am to around 10 am. Apart from religious messages, the need for ensuring peace in world was also stressed upon. The devotees were also asked to follow the lifestyle, including purity of mind and body, hygiene and others, of the holy Ramzan month in future also.”After prayers, people visited each other’s homes to relish the traditional dishes including Laccha, Kimami, Sewaiyyan, Biryani, Pulao and various non-vegetarian items. They also visited the graveyards to remember their near and dear ones.Altamash, a six-year-old resident of Dhurwa, said, “I woke up early in the morning and got ready for the namaz. After prayers I visited the grave of my grandmother who passed away around a month ago. Throughout the day I have been eating delicacies including Sewaiyya and Dahi Vada.”Meanwhile, district administration had deployed magistrates along with police force at important mosques and idgahs of the city including Ekra Masjid, Tharpakna Masjid, Jama Masjid (Badgai), Harmu road Idgah, Doranda Idgah, Rangsaaj Masjid, Karbala Masjid, Bilal Masjid, Chandini Masjid, Chhata Masjid and Lalpur Plaza Masjid.
