Vadodara: A deputy superintendent of police lost control of his car on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara highway near Vasad on Thursday afternoon, killing three people and injuring two others.DySP A A Saiyad was driving from Vadodara to Anand when he lost control of the vehicle near the Adas bridge, police said. The car veered off and slammed into five people standing by the roadside.The victims were identified as Ahmedabad resident Sanjay Dodiya, Manoj Katara and Sheetal Talpada, who died of grievous injuries. Kachra Bariya and Mahi Talpada suffered injuries.Police said Dodiya and his family had gone to Vadodara for a temple visit and were returning home when they halted briefly on the highway to have food. They were standing by the roadside when the speeding car struck them.Vasad police registered a complaint against Saiyad and are investigating the matter.
