Vadodara: Deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi on Friday dedicated several development works to the city and launched new projects worth Rs 203 crore. He also announced that a light-and-sound show and other visitor facilities will soon be developed in the Sursagar and Nyay Mandir areas.Sanghavi, who is also the in-charge minister for Vadodara, said the government is expanding urban infrastructure in view of the rapid growth in the population and geographical spread of cities. Praising the efforts of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) staff during the 2024 floods, Sanghavi said employees and workers worked tirelessly despite the crisis. “They could have chosen to stay at home, but instead they stood with the people and ensured relief work continued,” he said.Highlighting upcoming projects, Sanghavi said the state government and VMC will contribute Rs 20 crore each to develop the light-and-sound show at Sursagar. The proposed heritage square near Nyay Mandir will also soon take shape.Sanghavi further said that Vadodara will host the regional Vibrant Gujarat summit, strengthening the city’s role in the state’s development agenda.Later, he also launched the MP Office E-Portal at the office of Lok Sabha MP Dr Hemang Joshi. The portal features an AI-based citizen connect platform aimed at improving communication and grievance redressal for residents.
