Kanpur: The city witnessed a dry day on Tuesday, with no rainfall recorded and the maximum temperature showing a rising trend. The mercury touched 34.4°C, 0.2°C higher than Monday’s maximum, while the minimum temperature dipped to 24.8°C during the previous night.Northeasterly winds blew at speeds ranging from 1.8 to 5.1 kmph but failed to provide relief from the heat and sultry weather conditions. Bright sunshine prevailed throughout the day, with the feel-like temperature hovering around 36°C.CSA weather expert S N Sunil Pandey said that despite indications of the southwest monsoon withdrawing, cloud movement over the next three days could lead to localised thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds and light rain or drizzle. He added that intense humidity would persist whenever the sun came out.The IMD has forecast a change in weather conditions in Kanpur over the next 24 hours, with the maximum temperature likely to remain around 34°C and the minimum between 26°C and 27°C.The weather is likely to remain partly cloudy, with a mix of sunshine and clouds during the afternoon. The IMD has also indicated the possibility of scattered thunderstorms. Northeasterly winds are expected to blow at around 5-6 mph.
