Chennai: A 60-year-old man died after falling from the balcony of his house and getting impaled on iron railings near a temple tank in Nungambakkam on Friday night.The deceased, Devanathan of Agatheeswarar Temple Street was an autorickshaw driver. The Agatheeswarar Temple tank is located adjacent to his residence.According to police, a drunk Devanathan was sitting on the second-floor balcony of his house when he lost balance and fell from the balcony. He landed on the iron railings surrounding the temple tank and died on the spot. On information, Nungambakkam police reached the scene, recovered the body and sent it for postmortem . TNN
