Chennai: Election officials registered a case against Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) coordinator Seeman for violating campaign time restrictions during an election meeting in Tondiarpet on Friday.Police said Seeman was campaigning near the Vaidyanathan flyover in support of party candidates Vennila Thayumanavan of RK Nagar and Babu of Royapuram constituencies. During the meeting, the election officials monitored and screened the campaigning process. According to election rules, campaigning must end by 10pm. Police said an inspector approached Seeman at the venue and asked him to conclude the event as the deadline had passed. Seeman reacted by arguing with the officer and continued his speech beyond the permitted time.Officials from the election flying squad later registered a case against him for violating the model code of conduct.
