Buxar: A driver and his helper died on the spot when a sand-laden trailer rammed into the rear of a stationary trailer on Buxar-Patna NH-922 near Pratapsagar under Naya Bhojpur police station area in Buxar early Monday.The deceased were identified as driver Ramanand Yadav (25) and helper Indrajit Bharti (22), both residents of Maharajganj district in Uttar Pradesh.The impact left the front portion of the sand-laden trailer badly mangled, trapping the two inside the cabin. Police reached the spot after being alerted by local residents and launched a rescue operation.As the cabin was severely damaged, a JCB was used to remove the mangled structure and retrieve the bodies. The bodies were later sent to Buxar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem, and the victims’ families were informed.Dumraon SDPO Sameer Kumar Singh said, “The sand-laden trailer rammed into another trailer that was parked on the road. Both occupants died on the spot.”A local eyewitness said the sand-laden trailer was travelling from the Koilwar side towards Gorakhpur when the accident occurred near Pratapsagar.
