Pune: The draft electoral roll prepared under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise will be published on Aug 31 this year, with district collector Jitendra Dudi, who is also the district election officer, urging voters to check the list and ensure that their names and details are reflected correctly.The draft roll will be available on the websites of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Maharashtra and the Pune district collector and district election officer. Printed copies will also be made available at the offices of recognised political parties, tehsil offices and electoral registration offices.“Voters whose names are missing from the draft roll can apply for fresh registration by submitting Form 6. Those seeking to raise an objection regarding a name in the electoral roll can submit Form 7. Voters can use Form 8 to obtain an EPIC (elector photo identity card) and for making corrections in the electoral roll,” Dudi further said.The collector also said voters who are dissatisfied with any order passed by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) following a hearing related to the electoral roll can appeal against the decision before him, in his capacity as district election officer.An appeal against the decision of the district election officer can subsequently be filed before the Maharashtra CEO, Dudi said.
