Kolkata: BJP Rajarhat–Gopalpur MLA Tarunjyoti Tiwari on Monday warned around 60 contractors against paying ‘cut money’ to secure or execute govt projects, saying those involved in extortion could face immediate arrest and imprisonment.At a meeting attended by BMC officials and the OC of Baguiati police station, contractors were told they would receive payments for completed work but the quality of roads and other civic infrastructure would be closely scrutinised.
