Times News NetworkGuwahati: University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM), in association with PA Sangma International Medical College & Hospital (PIMC) and IA Ayurvedic Medical College (IAMC), observed National Doctors’ Day 2026 on Tuesday.The programme was attended by USTM chancellor Mahbubul Hoque, vice-chancellor Prof GDSharma, Padma Shri Dr Sarbeswar Sahariah, pro vice-chancellor Prof ACKataki, director of medical administration Dr Jogesh Sharma, PIMC director of medical education and research Prof HKSharma, PIMC principal Dr Anil Kumar Sharma, senior IAMC professor, besides doctors, faculty members and healthcare professionals.Senior doctors and professors were felicitated for their contribution to medical education, healthcare services and institutional development.Speaking on the occasion, Prof ACKataki said compassion must go hand in hand with clinical excellence. Dr Sahariah said the true measure of success in medicine lies in healing with empathy, integrity and humanity.A special segment was held to honour the founding doctors of PIMC for their role in setting up the institution and shaping its academic and healthcare vision. The organisers also felicitated “Doctors of the Year 2026” for their contribution to patient care, academics, professional ethics and service to society.
