Prayagraj: Acknowledging the difficulties being faced by the residents including students preparing for competitive exams due to water logging in several area, District Magistrate (Prayargaj) Manish Kumar Verma, accompanied by PMC officials on Thursday inspected areas including George Town, Tagore Town, Sohbatiyabag, and adjoining pockets affected by waterlogging due to continuous rainfall in the district to assess the situation.While waterlogging has subsided in most of the areas, DM directed that the previously waterlogged areas be cleaned and treated with lime powder. He also instructed that pumping operations and drainage arrangements be maintained continuously. DM emphasized the need for constant monitoring and effective action to prevent waterlogging in any area due to the rain, ensuring that the public faces no inconvenience. He ordered the cleaning of all drains and sewers on a war footing to prevent blockages.While inspecting the Mori Pumping Station, he directed that the pumping stations remain operational round-the-clock. He instructed the Municipal Corporation to remain fully alert given the continuous rainfall in the city. . During the inspection, the District Magistrate asked officials to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place to prevent waterlogging anywhere during the rain and to ensure the smooth movement of citizens.
