Patna: Divisional commissioner Rajesh Kumar, hearing cases as the first appellate authority under the Right to Public Grievance Redressal Act, disposed of 31 grievances from Kaimur, Nalanda, Rohtas and Bhojpur districts, while ordering inquiries and seeking reports in several others on Saturday.The grievances were related to streetlights, excavation of ahar-pyne channels, revenue records, electricity bills, supplementary nutrition at anganwadi centres and road construction.In a Kaimur case, a complainant alleged that a teacher had secured a job using an invalid EWS certificate. Kumar directed the district education officer to provide the complainant with the verification report obtained from the circle officer and asked the complainant to submit evidence supporting the allegation.In another case from Nalanda, involving an error in the birth certificate of a mid-day meal cook, the official concerned was directed to investigate the matter and take action as per rules.In Bhojpur, Aarti Kumari alleged that compensation had not been paid even though her father died in a road accident in 2021. Kumar directed the district magistrate to fix responsibility for the delay and ensure payment within 15 days.The divisional commissioner also ordered inquiries into alleged irregularities in MGNREGA attendance records and the appointment of a Nyay Mitra.Emphasising accountability, Kumar directed officials to ensure timely and quality disposal of grievances and warned that negligence in handling public complaints would not be tolerated.
