Ahmedabad: The registration process for diploma engineering admissions after Class X has been completed, with 40,766 students applying for 60,155 seats this year. The admission committee has released a provisional merit list comprising 40,059 students. Some candidates have been assigned a zero-merit rank due to incomplete document submissions.The top rank was secured by a Rajkot student, who scored 295 out of 300 marks. Candidates have until July 8 (2pm) to raise objections or address any issues regarding the provisional merit list.The choice-filling process for the mock round has begun today and will continue until July 2. Based on these choices, the mock allotment result will be declared on July 6. Students can fill choices for the final round between July 6 and 9, with the first round of seat allotment scheduled for July 13.In all, 150 institutes, including 31 govt colleges (20,698 seats), 5 grant-in-aid colleges (1,515 seats), and 114 self-financed colleges (37,942 seats) are participating in the admission process. Notably, 7,982 management quota seats from self-financed colleges have been surrendered to the admission committee, increasing the pool of seats under centralised allocation.Last year, 50% of the seats were filled, and a similar trend is expected this year, with around 40,000 seats likely to be occupied. Govt colleges are expected to fill most of their seats within the first two rounds.
