Patna: More than 500 policymakers, entrepreneurs, professionals, academicians and social leaders from India and abroad attended the Bihar Development Summit 2026 in Goa on Sunday, where participants charted a roadmap for a developed Bihar by 2047.Organisers said nearly four lakh people are now associated with the Let’s Inspire Bihar (LIB) initiative, which aims to expand its network to 10 lakh members by March next year. Organised by LIB at Ravindra Bhavan, the summit was themed “Developed Bihar, Developed India 2047” and focused on Bihar’s development challenges and opportunities.LIB founder Vikas Vaibhav said Bihar would need sustained economic growth of around 15% to achieve the developed-state goal by 2047. He said development should ensure that people do not have to migrate outside Bihar for education, employment or advanced healthcare facilities.Urging members of the Bihar diaspora to contribute to their native villages, towns and districts, Vaibhav said 104 LIB associates have already undertaken initiatives such as setting up libraries, providing scholarships, organising medical camps and conducting virtual classes.Emphasising social cohesion, Vaibhav expressed concern over the growing prominence of caste-based divisions in public discourse. He said Bihar’s legacy institutions, including Vaishali, Nalanda and Vikramshila, reflected the importance of collective thinking and a global outlook.Bihar sports and industries minister Shreyasi Singh said the state’s transformation would require the active participation of citizens, entrepreneurs, professionals, social organisations and the diaspora, alongside govt initiatives.The summit featured sessions on entrepreneurship, Bihar’s culture and heritage, Bihar@2047 and women’s empowerment. The Bihar Prernashrot Samman was also presented to individuals and organisations for their contributions to the state’s development.
