Vadodara: Two drug peddlers accused in over 75 offences were arrested by the detection of crime branch (DCB) sleuths in the city on Saturday. Police officials said they had received information that the duo were carrying drugs for sale to some customers. Cops intercepted the duo identified as Hussain Sunni and Manoj Trivedi on Warasia Ring Road and frisked them. The crime branch sleuths found MD drug powder in their pockets after which they were arrested.The drug powder seized is valued at Rs 1.54 lakh. Police officials said they are investigating how the duo got the drugs and whether some more persons are involved in the racket.Both Sunni and Trivedi are history-sheeters who have offences of rioting, loot, dacoity, attempt to murder, bootlegging, assault and gambling registered against them in various police stations across the city. Crime branch officers said Hussain is a member of the notorious Qasam Ala gang that is involved in several crimes in the city.The entire gang has over 164 offences, including attempted murder, rioting, extortion and threatening registered against them in various cities across the state. They were booked under the GCTOC by the police last year and all the gang members were split up and sent to different jails across the state.
