Mangaluru: Devotees in large numbers took part in the Koragajjana Adikshetrakke Namma Nadige, a 14-km walk from Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple to Koragajja Adi Kshetra in Kuthar, on Sunday.The padayatra was organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Ullal unit, on Sunday. The march commenced from Kadri Temple after offering prayers to Lord Manjunatha. Later, a mass prayer was held after reaching the Koragajja shrine. Krishna Adiga, chief priest of Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple, said that Koragajja holds a special place in Tulu Nadu’s customs and traditions.VHP Pranta Sahakaryadarshi Sharan Pumpwell said that caste has no place among Hindus and that everyone is equal. The VHP aims to foster social equality and religious awareness by guaranteeing equal opportunities for everyone, spanning from drawing water from wells to performing last rites in cremation grounds, he said, adding that the Parishad will continue its fight against ‘Love Jihad’.Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty visited the Koragajja Adi Kshetra in Kuthar on Sunday. Shetty said that he felt peace of mind during every visit to the shrine.
