Times News NetworkKanpur: Devotees on Wednesday observed Guru Purnima with great enthusiasm. They reached Ganga Ghats and took bath and offered their prayers.Guru Purnima is a traditional festival celebrated to honour teachers expressing gratitude and paying respect to them. It is observed on the full moon day (Purnima) in the Hindu month of Ashadha.Scores of devotees went to Ganga ghats such as Sarsaiya Ghat, Ganga Barrage, Parmat, Jajmau, Massacre Ghat and Siddhanath Ghat where they took holy dip and offered prayers to Sun Lord and sought blessings from their spiritual teachers.The district administration had made special arrangements for the devotees. Besides police, divers, PAC and jal police were deputed at all prominent ghats. Since the water level of Ganga is rising, the people were being warned not to go deep into the river.The teams of Kanpur Municipal Corporation clean the ghats and the health department deputed ambulance for emergency services
