New Delhi: Parts of the city saw very light rain during morning hours. The partly cloudy skies lead to a marginal drop in the maximum temperatures.A yellow alert has been issued for Sunday for rain and thunderstorms, under the influence of a western disturbance.On Friday, the maximum temperature at Safdarjung was recorded at 32.6 degrees Celsius, against 34.8 degrees Celsius a day earlier. The minimum temperature was recorded at 20.6 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, compared to 19.2 degrees Celsius.According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum and minimum temperatures on Saturday are likely to hover around 32 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius, respectively. A marginal fall in temperature is expected.“Maximum temperature is expected to be below normal for a few days from Monday. A spell of very light to light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) during morning hours and another spell of such conditions during forenoon to afternoon on Sunday is expected. Possibility of very light to light rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning on Monday,” stated IMD.Meanwhile, the air quality saw a slight improvement within moderate levels. On Friday, the air quality index (AQI) at 4 pm was 144, against 186 a day earlier—both moderate. The AQI is likely to stay within the moderate category over the next seven days
