NEW DELHI: A 27-year-old man was stabbed to death in a road rage incident in northwest Delhi’s Ashok Vihar on Wednesday evening. His body was later found inside a public toilet, police said.A PCR call was received around 6.23 pm reporting that a man had been found with stab injuries inside the compound of a Sulabh Sauchalaya at the fish market in B-Block, Wazirpur Industrial Area. On reaching the spot, a police team found his body inside the toilet premises. The deceased was identified as Santosh Kumar, a factory worker who lived in the fish market area and was originally from Nepal.Police said that the incident stemmed from a sudden altercation between Kumar and a motorcycle rider, which escalated into a physical scuffle. “During the fight, the rider and an associate allegedly attacked Kumar with a knife. After being stabbed, Kumar ran towards the nearby Sulabh Sauchalaya in an attempt to escape but collapsed inside the premises due to his injuries,” a senior police officer said.The accused fled the scene immediately after the attack, abandoning their motorcycle, which was later seized by police. Investigators said the motive appeared to be road rage triggered by the quarrel.Based on initial leads, police arrested Tanish, 19, a resident of CSA Colony in the area. A juvenile allegedly involved in the incident has also been apprehended.A case has been registered at Ashok Vihar police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.Further investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events.
