NEW DELHI: In a major blow to cross-border intelligence networks, the Delhi Police special cell has busted an espionage module backed by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and arrested at least 10 operative. The high-stakes operation was led by additional commissioner of police (special cell) Pramod Kushwaha. The operatives were working at the behest of foreign handlers to destabilize national security.Investigators revealed that the module was engaged in extensive reconnaissance of several vital installations and high-traffic areas across the national capital and beyond. Beyond mere observation, the accused were reportedly caught installing sophisticated cameras at sensitive locations to provide real-time feeds to their ISI counterparts. This surveillance data was being transmitted across the border to orchestrate and fine-tune future terror attacks within India. The Special Cell’s crackdown comes after weeks of technical surveillance and human intelligence gathering. Authorities believe the 10 arrested suspects served as the local backbone for the network, facilitating logistics and mapping out vulnerabilities in the city’s infrastructure. Following the arrests, police have seized electronic devices and incriminating documents, which are currently being analyzed to identify other potential sleeper cells linked to this operation.
