NEW DELHI: Chief minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced in the budget a series of initiatives to strengthen court infrastructure, while outlining changes in allocation for the legal affairs department.“In a move towards delivering an efficient, competent, and accessible judiciary, our govt has taken significant steps to strengthen court infrastructure ,” she said. Rs 230 crore has been proposed for the construction of court buildings and courtrooms. The allocation to the department of law, justice and legislative affairs stands at Rs 51,36,000 in 2026-27, down from Rs 92,66,000 last year.Govt has proposed courtrooms and complexes at Shastri Park, Karkardooma, Rohini, and Rouse Avenue. A family court will be made in Rohini. tnn
