Kanpur: Indigenous defence equipment developed in line with national security standards, AI-based projects, and an elaborate flower show will be among the key attractions of the three-day Bithoor Mahotsav. The event willl be held at Nana Rao Park from Feb 26 to 28.Addressing a media conference on Friday, Diksha Jain, chief development officer, said stalls showcasing Kanpur’s famous cuisine, the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, and exhibitions highlighting the exemplary work of various govt departments would also be organised. Cultural programmes will be a major highlight of the event, including a performance by renowned Indian rock group Euphoria and a Bollywood musical evening. The Ram Kala Kendra will present theme-based theatrical performances, Kathak recitals, a poetry symposium, and other cultural events. To offer a glimpse of the region’s folk traditions, performances such as puppet dance, kachhighori, shehnai playing, and Ravanhatha will also be staged. Jain said several sub-committees were constituted to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival. “The event will serve as a platform to showcase Bithoor’s rich historical identity while presenting it through a modern lens,” she added.
