T’puram: A highly decomposed body, suspected to be that of a history-sheeter recently released from jail, was found near the Muttappalam primary health centre in Chirayinkeezhu on Wednesday.The body was discovered after locals alerted police about a foul smell emanating from the area. A police team that reached the spot conducted an inspection and found the body in an advanced stage of decomposition.Police suspect that the deceased could be Minnal Faizal, who is accused in several criminal cases across the district. According to preliminary information, Faizal had been staying in a house near the primary health centre after his recent release from jail.However, police said that the identity of the deceased has not yet been officially confirmed. Preliminary investigation suggests that the deceased was around 45 years old and that the body had been lying at the spot for nearly five days.The body was shifted to Parippally MCH for autopsy. Chirayinkeezhu police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation.Police said further investigation is under way.
