Nagpur: Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar said on Sunday Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC Ambadas Danve’s presence at an event attended by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in Buldhana on Saturday could be a signal of a shifting political landscape amid a steady exodus of UBT office-bearers to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.Danve was in the audience at the inauguration of an auditorium and sports complex at a tribal ashram school in Khamgaon, while Bhagwat was on stage. Danve’s presence drew attention as BJP MLAs also attended the event.Speaking to reporters in Nagpur, Wadettiwar said the presence of Danve, who was earlier LoP in Council, at Bhagwat’s programme raised questions about the direction politics was taking. Questioning why Danve chose to attend the programme, Wadettiwar said, “Who goes where, why, and at whose invitation is the question. Even Uddhavji speaks against the Sangh.”Wadettiwar, however, stopped short of a direct charge and said it was for Shiv Sena (UBT) to explain the appearance. “He (Danve) may have gone in his personal capacity. The party should clarify whether it wants to walk with Sangh or whether the functionary went on his own. We do not want to get into that,” he said.TOI reached out to Danve for a comment, but his assistant said the MLC was ‘busy’.
