Nagpur: A 32-year-old daily wage labourer was stoned to death near a dargah in the Isasani Madhavnagari area under the MIDC police station limits in Hingna tehsil on Sunday evening.Local residents passing through the area spotted Ankush Shende (32), a resident of Panchsheel Nagar in Isasani, lying in a pool of blood around 8pm. They alerted the MIDC police. Station Officer Gokul Mahajan and inspector Sanjay Bansod rushed to the spot and conducted a panchnama.Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased sustained severe head injuries caused by stones. Ankush, who was known to be addicted to alcohol, was last seen wandering in the locality around 5pm. The exact motive behind the brutal murder is yet to be ascertained, but police suspect it could be linked to a personal enmity or an altercation. The body has been sent for autopsy. MIDC police registered a case of murder and launched a manhunt to nab the accused. Teams were formed to question locals and gather CCTV footage from the surrounding areas.
