Prayagraj: There will be no delivery of domestic LPG cylinders without a valid delivery authentication code (DAC), which will now be sent to the device used for bookings, via registered mobile number, app, WhatsApp or email. After weeks of confusion and failed deliveries, oil marketing companies have resolved technical flaw in the DAC system and made it mandatory for delivery. The glitch, primarily linked to non-receipt of the authentication code, left many households unable to receive booked cylinders. The new system is sending code to the device from which a cylinder is booked instead of the earlier system of sending the DAC to the registered mobile number only through SMS. There was earlier a common problem, such as SMS not received, inactive number or full inbox.DAC system requires a one-time code to be shared with delivery personnel at the time of handover. “Even if a consumer has booked LPG refill from an app on a device, which had a number other than the registered mobile number, the DAC would still be sent to the registered number,” said a distributor in the city and the modified system will help in reducing delivery failures.” Distributors claimed the change will streamline operations and reduce disputes at the doorstep.Meanwhile, district authorities are carrying out detailed review of the network expansion and smooth implementation of gas distribution system in the city. District magistrate Manish Kumar Verma issued directives to ensure expeditious issuance of pending no objection certificates (NOCs) related to expansion of PNG pipelines, instructing officials to coordinate effectively with the departments concerned to resolve the issues promptly. Moreover, DM asked authorities of Indian Oil and Adani Gas Pvt Ltd to identify residential areas, commercial establishments and industrial zones without PNG connections. He instructed them to undertake measures to expand PNG network in these areas while simultaneously raising awareness among local consumers. He also directed that PNG supply be activated immediately for connections that are “ready-to-move” but not yet operational. Additionally, he instructed officials concerned to initiate necessary procedures to ensure surrender of LPG connections in households and establishments that currently hold both PNG and LPG connections.
