Prayagraj: Police on Sunday sped up investigations into the case of a city-based neurosurgeon booked for molesting a woman inside his chamber. On the woman’s complaint, FIR was earlier registered against the doctor under appropriate sections at Civil Lines police station.Inspector (Civil Lines) Ramashraya Yadav told TOI that police had already recorded statement of the complainant, and would also record it before the magistrate concerned. He said, “Police have expedited investigations and the statement of the surgeon would also be recorded once the statement of the woman had been recorded before the magistrate in court.”The woman complained that on Apr 1, she went to the doctor along with her brother after suffering from a bout of acute migraine. She added that her number in waiting was 74, and her brother went out to attend to some other work when she was called in. When she entered his cabin, the doctor asked others to leave and behaved “inappropriately” with her.Family members of the woman created a ruckus outside the house of the surgeon. Police have been scanning some electronic evidence, including CCTV footage, to compile evidence and verify details.
