New Delhi: Food regulator FSSAI has said several food businesses, including Dabur India, Ferns N Petals and Lotte India, have taken corrective measures after notices over labelling, product classification and advertising-related violations.

Dabur was flagged for selling an Ayurvedic proprietary medicinal oil as an edible oil. The company told the regulator that it has directed e-commerce platforms to list the product under the appropriate Ayurvedic medicine category and is making similar changes on its own website.

Lotte India Corporation, which was flagged over “100%” claims, has rectified the labels concerned, according to FSSAI.

Ferns N Petals was pulled up over labelling of a chocolate product containing hydrogenated vegetable fat, including the absence of prescribed declarations and nutritional information. The company subsequently rectified labels, including for its Roasted Almond Chocolate, FSSAI said.

Eat Better Ventures removed comparative and vegan claims after the regulator objected to “No Added Sugar” and comparative advertising involving regular ladoos and chocolates.

Separately, FSSAI flagged Om Sai Healthcare’s Vedaflexa Capsules over regulatory compliance and promotional claims, including disease-related therapeutic or medicinal benefits. The company has begun revising its marketing material and website content and has asked dealers to discontinue earlier promotional material.

FSSAI said the actions followed regulatory notices and included withdrawal of claims and changes to product packaging and labelling. During the last few months, the FSSAI has taken action against many FBOs for violations of law. It has also cracked down on energy drink makers and alcoholic beverage manufacturers.
