Pune: Online fraudsters duped an executive (59) of a private company from Wanowrie of Rs 69.82 lakh by promising him handsome returns on his investment in online share-trading between Jan and Sept last year.Pune cybercrime police said the victim filed a complaint application in Jan.After verifying his complaint, a formal FIR was registered on Monday. According to the police, the victim’s cellphone number was added to a group on a messaging application where members discussed high returns generated through online share-trading.Impressed by the messages and the profit prospects, the victim contacted the group administrator. The administrator, according to the police, sent him a link to an application for online share-trading. The victim downloaded it and eventually end up transferring Rs 69.82 lakh to eight different bank accounts.
