Ahmedabad: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) over two days after registrations crossed 2.7 million candidates. The examination, earlier scheduled only for Feb 8, will now be held on Feb 7 and 8. Admit cards have been issued and the allotted dates for the candidates are mentioned.CTET is conducted by CBSE for candidates seeking eligibility to become teachers in CBSE-affiliated schools. While the test is usually held in Dec, this cycle was planned for Feb 8. Online applications opened on Nov 27 and closed on Dec 18. By the deadline, 25,30,581 candidates registered nationwide, including 7,68,199 applications submitted in the final two days.

After the deadline, CBSE received complaints from candidates who could not complete submissions. A review found 1,61,127 applications were incomplete or not finally submitted. The board allowed these candidates to complete the process up to Dec 30, taking the total registrations beyond 2.7 million and leading to the revised schedule.
