Times News NetworkKanpur: The 28th convocation ceremony of Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur will be held on July 10. BIMSTEC secretary general ambassador Indramani Pandey will be the chief guest at the ceremony, while the event will be presided over by the university’s Chancellor and Uttar Pradesh governor, Anandiben Patel.Vice-chancellor Sanjeev Gupta talking to reporters here on Wednesday said that a total of 372 students will be awarded various degrees this time. These include PhD degrees to 69 students, BSc (Agriculture) to 179, BSc (Horticulture) to 28, BSc (Forestry) to 19, BSc (Community Science) to 10, BTech degrees in various branches to 52, BFSc to 8, and BTech (Dairy Technology) degrees to 7 students.The vice-chancellor said that 33 students will also be awarded various medals for outstanding academic performance at this convocation ceremony. Of these, 14 medals will be given to meritorious girl students and 19 medals to male students. He said that it is the result of the quality of education in the university and the hard work of the students that a large number of students are proving their talent.Registrar of the university Renu Singh said that 9 people will be honoured with the Chancellor’s Gold Medal, 9 with the University Silver Medal, and 9 people with the University Bronze Medal, while 6 people will be honoured with sponsored Gold Medals.All deans, directors and department heads, along with Finance Controller Sanjay Rai, were present on the occasion.
