Kanpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath awarded Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur with the Outstanding Agricultural University Award. The award was presented during the Agricultural Scientist Honor Ceremony and National Symposium held on the 36th Foundation Day of the Uttar Pradesh Council of Agricultural Research at the auditorium of the Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research in Lucknow on Tuesday. The awards were granted following approvals from the UP Agricultural Academic Committee. The university’s vice-chancellor Dr Anand Kumar Singh received the Honorary Fellow 2024 award, director of extension Dr RK Yadav was honoured with the Best Scientist in Crop Improvement and Lifetime Achievement Award while Dr PK Singh received recognition in Crop Science, Dr VK Tripathi in Horticultural Science and Fellow Horticulture, and Dr Shweta Yadav was awarded the Best Teacher Award in Genetics and Plant Breeding.The university’s media in-charge, Dr Khalil Khan, said that the Agricultural Science Center in Lakhimpur Kheri, operated under the university, was honoured for its outstanding extension activities. It is noteworthy that the awards were recommended by the committee during its general meeting on February 4, 2025. The VC said that it was a matter of pride that the university received 8 awards, including the Outstanding Agricultural University in the state.
