Hanumakonda: Communist Party of India (CPI) state secretary and Kothagudem MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao and CPM state secretary John Wesley were arrested during a protest for house sites in Hanumakonda Town on Saturday. A joint protest call was given by CPI and CPM for the house sites and double bedroom houses distribution to the eligible beneficiaries. Many party workers, who blocked the Warangal-Kazipet highway during the protest, were also arrested.Speaking at the protest, MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao said that he demanded the state govt to issue lands for the Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, and those who were not listed as beneficiaries in the double bedroom house scheme.CPM state secretary John Wesley demanded the chief minister A Revanth Reddy to distribute the double bedroom houses to the eligible families who were not having permanent residences in the state.Late on Saturday evening, the arrested were released on personal bond.
