Patna: The civil court granted three-day custody of the prime accused, Tauseef alias Badshah, who was arrested from Kolkata along with his three associates, in connection with the murder of gangster Chandan Mishra at a private hospital in Patna. On Monday, all four accused were produced in the additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) IX court around 4pm.SSP, Kartikeya K Sharma, said that all the four arrested were brought here from Kolkata on transit remand by road. “Upon arrival in Patna, they underwent medical examinations before being presented in the court,” he said.The police submitted a request to the court seeking custody of the main shooter, Tauseef, for interrogation in connection with the murder. The SSP added that the court approved this request for police remand, which will start from Tuesday, while the other three suspects were sent to judicial custody.Talking to TOI, the SSP said, “During interrogation, the police will ask the accused about the actual plan, the main accused behind the killing, motive, the details of the contract killing, the identity of the people involved in the crime, the planning and execution, chain of events, and the sources of the weapon and other logistic support. The police will also seek information about the other five accused, who are still at large.“As the pistols used in the murder of Mishra have not been recovered yet, the police will also gather information about the location where the weapons or other evidence were disposed of.Tauseef, his cousin Nishu Khan, who is partially paralysed, and their two associates, Harsh and Bhim, were brought to Patna on transit demand in four different SUVs. They were first taken to the Bihar STF office and other locations to evade the media persons. During their stay in the STF office, ADG (headquarters) Kundan Krishnan also reached there.Right after the murder, Tausif, along with Nishu, went to Kolkata with his younger cousin in his SUV via Gaya, Barhi, and Ranchi, along with Bhim and Harsh, who stayed with Nishu as caretakers. They played a crucial role in helping Tauseef escape. According to police, the murder was planned at Nishu’s house located behind the Paras Hospital, where the incident took place in the Samanpura locality. He was also present near the hospital with his SUV before the incident was carried out.
