Itanagar: Police busted a two-wheeler theft racket, apprehended several juveniles and recovered seven stolen scooters from locations across Itanagar and Naharlagun, Itanagar Capital SP Jummar Basar said on Sunday.The operation led to the cracking of three theft cases registered at the Niti Vihar police station under Section 305(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).According to police, the breakthrough came following a sustained investigation and specific intelligence inputs. Acting on these leads, police teams detained several children in conflict with law who were allegedly involved in two-wheeler thefts across the Itanagar Capital Region.

Subsequent raids and disclosures led to the recovery of seven stolen scooters from various pockets in Itanagar and Naharlagun.“Efforts are currently underway to verify and establish the ownership of some of the recovered vehicles,” the SP said. Police teams are pursuing further leads to determine if the gang is linked to other unsolved vehicle thefts in the region.The investigation is continuing, and further apprehensions and recoveries have not been ruled out.
