Kendrapada: A 30-year-old constable was arrested in Kendrapada district on Saturday after a 23-year-old woman accused him of sexually exploiting her for over a year on the pretext of marriage by posing as a bachelor.She filed an FIR on Friday, alleging that the constable maintained physical relationsship with her, promising to marry her. She alleged that when she pressured him for marriage, he threatened her. She later found out he was married.Acting on the FIR, police arrested the accused under sections 69 (sexual intercourse obtained by deceitful means or a false promise to marry), 351 (3) (criminal intimidation) , 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (4) (mischief causing substantial property damage) and 296 (obscene acts) of BNS.“He was produced in court on Saturday. The court rejected his bail application and remanded him in judicial custody,” said inspector Dilip Sahoo. “The woman was medically examined at the district headquarters hospital. Her statement was recorded by the court on Saturday,” he added.
