Hazaribag: State-run discom Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) will open a control room on Friday to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the Durga Puja festivities.To be set up under the Hazaribag electricity supply division, the control room will remain functional till Oct 21. Consumers can report power-related complaints through the Hazaribag electricity circle helpline (6206187480), division helpline (8580073578) and urban area helpline (9431707881).The department has also released contact numbers of area-wise officials for quick grievance redressal.Assistant electrical engineers can be contacted at 9431135716 (urban), 9431135715 (Katkamsandi) and 9431135717 (rural areas). Junior electrical engineers are available at 9431135733 (urban), 6201003741 (rural, Katkamsandi and Ichak) and 9262353907 (Barkagaon and Banaso).Puja organisers have also been directed to use standard-quality wiring, proper earthing and safety devices such as MCBs in their pandals and obtain authorised electricity connections and avoid power theft.Sub-divisional officer R P Singh said, “Puja committees should regularly inspect electrical installations and immediately report faults or hazards. Residents should use the helplines to reach out for any exigencies.”
