Kanpur: The district administration raised a control room and a call centre to redress problems in the supply of LPG gas cylinders. It has asked consumers to register complaints and share information on gas supply issues and black marketing.Additional district magistrate (civil supplies) Rajesh Kumar said, to redress consumers’ problems about domestic and commercial gas cylinders, a control room and call centre was established where consumers could register their complaints on landline no. 0512-2988763 and Whats App no. 6394616122. Both numbers are active.Information related to problems related to gas supply as well as black marketing can be given on this number.He clarified that only these two numbers had been authorised for the control room. Making an appeal to the public, he asked to lodge complaints or information related to LPG gas only on the control room numbers mentioned above, to ensure prompt and systematic resolution of complaints. The department concerned is taking prompt action on the complaints received. He claimed that there was no shortage of domestic gas cylinders in the district, and adequate supplies were being received.District supply officer Rakesh Kumar stated that from February 1 to February 11, an average of approximately 20,000 cylinders were supplied daily, whereas this number increased to an average of more than 21,000 per day between March 1 to March 12. The administration is continuously monitoring the gas supply system.On March 13, the control room established in the district supply office received as many as 130 complaints via landline and 92 via WhatsApp, bringing the total number of complaints registered to 222. Around 79 out of them were resolved.
